Healthy volunteer humans with blood coursing through their veins are needed for a Blood Drive at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church on Monday, Dec. 9.

“The blood center is in the midst of our ‘Give Red This Holiday’ campaign,” reads an announcement. “Our ‘Give Red This Holiday’ Campaign is a plan to make sure we have enough donors to meet the needs of patients in our community. The success of the campaign relies on our dedicated donors making the commitment to give between December 1st and January 5th. Please mark your calendars!!”

The Holiday Season is always a difficult time to collect enough blood. This year it is particularly difficult. Christmas and New Year’s both fall on Wednesdays (our biggest collection day) and we will be closed. Additionally, the days before and after these holidays will be lightly attended as people will opt to take more time off. Overall our capacity during this month will be reduced by almost 20% but the usage from the hospitals we support remains the same. We will still need over 16,000 people to donate blood. Every donor who “gives red” between Dec 1 and Jan 5, will make the difference. Please try and attend the blood drive below. Our records show at least 56 days will have passed since your last whole blood donation by Dec 9th. Thank you!

A friendly reminder: photo ID is now required at registration.

WHEN: Monday December 9th 2013, 12:30 pm to 6:30 pm (closed 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm)

WHERE: PRINCE OF PEACE LUTHERAN, 19030 8th Avenue S, SeaTac WA 98148 (Fellowship Hall)

NOTE: THIS IS A WALK-IN BLOOD DRIVE. NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY.

For questions on eligibility, please call (425) 656-3077 or e-mail Donorhealthoffice@psbc.org
