WEATHER: ‘Light snow’ expected tonight, turning to rain/snow mix Tues.

The National Weather Service issued a ‘Winter Weather Advisory‘ Monday afternoon (Dec. 9), warning of snow in the forecast until Noon Tuesday, Dec. 10.

“Light snow will fall over most of Western Washington tonight,” the warning reads, “then change to a rain and snow mix late Tuesday morning.”

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON PST TUESDAY…

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SEATTLE HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW…WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON PST TUESDAY.

* SOME AFFECTED LOCATIONS…LIGHT SNOW WILL FALL OVER MOST OF WESTERN WASHINGTON TONIGHT. IN LOCATIONS NEAR THE CASCADES SUCH AS NORTH BEND AND ENUMCLAW SNOW ACCUMULATION COULD BE HEAVIER.

* TIMING…SNOW WILL BEGIN TONIGHT THEN CHANGE TO A RAIN AND SNOW MIX LATE TUESDAY MORNING.

* ACCUMULATIONS…ONE OR TWO INCHES COULD ACCUMULATE TONIGHT. ANOTHER INCH COULD FALL TUESDAY MORNING…FOR A TOTAL OF TWO OR THREE INCHES. HEAVIEST AMOUNTS WILL BE NEAR THE CASCADES.

* MAIN IMPACT…ROADS COULD BE SLIPPERY TONIGHT AND TUESDAY MORNING. THIS COULD MAKE THE MORNING COMMUTE TOUGHER.
