UPDATE: Police find elderly female after search in Burien Wednesday

UPDATE 12/11/13 2:30 p.m.: The King County Sheriff’s Office announced via Twitter that they had successfully found an elderly woman after performing an extensive search Wednesday, Dec. 11:

Police searched for the woman in an area near S. 180 and 4 Ave South (map below) in Burien Wednesday.

The female is described as white, around 75-years old, and is wearing a white sweater and black pants.

“A citizen saw an elderly female in the area that was underdressed for the cold and wearing no shoes,” Deputy BJ Myers told The B-Town Blog. “They saw the female wander into a wetland area. We don’t know who she is yet; we are checking local care facilities.”

Deputies are in the area working with Search and Rescue and Guardian 1.

The initial call came in about 11 a.m., and searchers have been on scene since about Noon.
