Three Tree Point Yacht Club’s Duwamish Head Race will be this Saturday

The Three Tree Point Yacht Club’s annual Duwamish Head Race will be this Saturday, Jan. 11, starting at the Des Moines Marina at 9:30 a.m. and cruising back and forth past Burien’s coast.

“Are you ready for the 2014 Duwamish Head Race?” reads an announcement. “This year the SSS committee is giving you an extra week to prepare after the holidays. The 2014 Duwamish Head SSS race will be held on January 11th this time around, make sure to mark it in your calendars. If you haven’t yet, you can visit the Duwamish Head portion of the site to find the Notice of Race, Sailing Instructions, Race Registration and the race classes break down, just click on the read more button or find it through races in the navigation bar at the top. We hope to see you all out there!”

According to the TTPYC website:

The course starts in a northerly direction between an offshore orange mark and the RC flag on the Des Moines Marina fishing pier. Leave Duwamish Head Light and Blakely Rock Light to port. Finish in a southerly direction between the offshore orange mark and the RC flag on the end of the fishing pier.

Awards will be presented for first, second, and third in each class. The Azimuth Circle Award (TTPYC perpetual trophy for the Duwamish Head Race) will be engraved with the name of the overall Speed Potential Class winning yacht.
