B-TOWN BIZ: ‘Suite Arrangements’ consignment shop closing
‘Suite Arrangements,’ a furniture consignment shop located in Burien at 136 SW 152nd Street, announced Saturday (Jan. 18) that it will be closing.
Open since Friday, March 8, 2013 (read our previous coverage here), this was the company’s second location, with the first being at 4722 SW Fauntleroy Way in West Seattle.
Here’s the full announcement sent out to the store’s consignors by Geoffrey Abdian via email (tip of the hat to both Janet Grella and Len Boscarine for the info):
FOR ALL SUITE ARRANGEMENTS CONSIGNORS
January 18, 2014
Dear Suite Arrangements Consignor:
I regret to inform you that SUITE ARRANGEMENTS MUST CLOSE OUR BURIEN STORE – AND, IN ORDER TO CONSOLIDATE REMAINING INVENTORY, WE MUST (IN ACCORDANCE WITH OUR CONSIGNOR AGREEMENT), TERMINATE OUR AGREEMENT TO CONSIGN YOUR FURNISHNGS AND FASHIONS.
FURTHER: Consignors have through Saturday, February 1, 2014
to retrieve any unsold items they consigned and wish to keep, AND:
All personally owned items remaining in inventory after Saturday, February 1, 2014, will be considered ABANDONED / SURRENDERED – and DISPOSED OF AS WE CHOOSE, WITHOUT OBLIGATION.
This may prove immaterial to many consignors. Many have already made clear that they do not wish to retrieve items to which they have little personal attachment, and/or that the market has made clear it doesn’t value.
For those who do wish to retrieve their consigned items, however, please keep in mind that store personnel cannot lift heavy items, so you MUST bring the help you require to load your things!
