Charges filed in Normandy Park homicide against Shane Chamberlain, 22

Murder and assault charges were filed Tuesday afternoon (Jan. 28) against Shane Ryan Chamberlain, 22, who is accused of the fatal shooting of a 96-year-old man in his home on Saturday in Normandy Park.

The defendant is also accused of a crowbar attack on the man’s granddaughter.

Chamberlain is charged with ‘Murder in the First Degree with a firearm enhancement’ and ‘Assault in the First Degree with a deadly weapon’ for the murder of Philip Hamlin.

The suspect was the estranged spouse of Hamlin’s caregiver, and remains in jail with bail set at $2 million.

Arraignment is scheduled for Feb. 10 at 9 a.m. at the Maleng Regional Justice Center.

      No Slavka, Shane’s wife was the caregiver for him. His granddaughter is the one who was hit with a crow bar..

    Was Mr. Hamlin, the man who was murdered in N.P. the Hamlin who had the photography business on 1st Ave S for so many years?
