Cove to Clover fundraising 5K run returns to its Celtic Roots March 16
Cove to Clover Classic – the area’s highlander 5K race coming Sunday, March 16 – begins at the base of an incline affectionately known as “Snake Hill,” triumphantly ascends to stunning views of Puget Sound and the music of a Highland bagpiper, and boasts 3 beer gardens and live music at the finish line – all while supporting local charities.
This sixth annual event has gone from charity run to family festival and back again; it’s a staple to runners in the Highline and surrounding areas and a test piece for regional runners.
“We are getting back to our roots this year by offering the classic 5K that we launched in 2009 (no 10K or Half this year),” said race organizer John Nelson. “We are aligning again with St. Patrick’s day and pouring all the Irish back into the event; the pain remains the same.”
There’s also the Wee Race, a 1-mile fun run, for young runners and families who aren’t quite ready to “Beat the Snake”. Race Day registration as well as finish line and post-race festivities will be held in Olde Burien at the Southgate Masonic Lodge, located at 1004 SW 152nd St, Burien, WA 98166 in Burien.
Race Weekend schedule is as follows:
