Our friends at Burien Parks are seeking Volunteers to help with two work parties set for Saturday, March 15:

  • 9 a.m. – Noon: Arbor Lake Park, 12380 2nd Ave South; removing invasive plants and spreading mulch chips! Volunteers are asked to please check in at the playground in the morning, before the group moves over to the north side of the lake.

Or

  • 10 a.m. – Noon: Salmon Creek Ravine, 12540 Shorewood Drive; removing invasive plants and planting some small conifer trees!

“At both sites, please dress in layers and wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty,” reads an announcement. “Please wear sturdy shoes and bring along a container of water! Participants under age 18 need an adult to sign a waiver form and participants under age 13 must be accompanied with an adult. No restrooms are available at either of these work sites.”

“We will also have councilmember Steve Armstrong joining us should you want to take the opportunity to talk with him while working!” added Lisa Aumann. “Thank you and look forward to working with you next week end!”
