On Tuesday (March 18), Burien Police Deputy Fitchett made a “routine” traffic stop in the 15800 block of 4th Ave SW, according to the Burien Police Department.
Back-up Officer Easterbrook swung by to assist him.
During the stop, the passenger was acting very nervous and appeared to be reaching for something.
The officers found a handgun within reach of the passenger.
It turns out the gun was stolen in a burglary in Renton and the passenger is a convicted felon.
“One less gun and one less felon on the streets of Burien thanks to a couple of hard working officers,” said Captain Bryan Howard. “Way to go Officers Fitchett and Easterbrook!”
