This SUV belonging to the Burien Police Department was involved in the crash.

An accident has closed the intersection of SW 136th and Ambaum Blvd. SW – in all directions – Thursday afternoon (March 27), according to a Tweet sent out by the Burien Police Department.

Apparently the crash – which put one car on its side – also involved a Burien officer.

“Both drivers have injuries and were transported to hospitals,” Capt. Bryan Howard said. “The road is closed in all directions and detours are available, but you should allow a few extra minutes to go around.”

Howard added:

“Our major accident detectives are responding to the scene and will assist in determining a cause. The most important thing to us is everyone involved fully recovers from any injuries.”

This intersection was also the scene of a Casino bus crash on Jan. 26 – read our previous coverage here.
