With 10 weeks until the Relay For Life of Highline – coming up on June 7–8 at Highline Memorial Stadium – organizers wanted to get the word out on some of the things that the dollars raised through the Relay are able to accomplish.

“A low-cost device designed by two University of Washington researchers and a undergraduate engineering student could give doctors a better head start un-diagnosing pancreatic cancer, one of the most lethal forms of this disease,” they said in a statement.

University of Washington’s cancer research initiatives receive funding from the American Cancer Society largely from the dollars that people like you raise in Relay For Life.
