Bank robbery suspect who said he had a bomb arrested in Burien Saturday
The Burien Police Department arrested a bank robbery suspect in the 14600 block of 1st Ave South Saturday morning (April 5) after “he said he had a bomb.”
“The suspect entered a bank in 14600 block of 1st Ave South and demanding money and saying he had a bomb in his backpack,” said Capt. Bryan Howard. “All employees were able to leave the bank except the branch manager who remained inside with the suspect.”
Police were on scene the moment the call was dispatched, entered the bank and arrested the suspect without incident.
The suspect did not have a bomb and the incident was under control within five minutes from the time the alarm was activated by bank employees.
“Excellent work by the bank employees and all of the officers who responded so quickly!”
