B-TOWN BIZ: New ‘La Parrilla Mexicana’ restaurant opens in downtown Burien

A new restaurant has opened in downtown Burien – ‘La Parrilla Mexicana’ – located on the side of 626 SW 152nd Street, across the parking lot from Bikram Yoga.

The name translates roughly to “The Mexican Grill,” and the concept is simple – you pick out a meal from a butcher-style case, then it’s taken out and grilled for you right there on the spot.

Owner Marcos Rodriguez told us also that 80 percent of the materials used inside the restaurant are reclaimed and re-used.

This space – painted bright orange and red – was formerly occupied by a carniceria.

The restaurant is open Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., and weekends from 9 a.m. – 10 p.m.

By saying that “80% of the materials used inside the resturant are reclaimed and re-used” I hope they are not speaking of the food because the Health Department will not accept that concept very well, nor will anyones digestive system for that matter!

How about we get some delicious authentic Chinese food in this town for a change instead of “another” Mexican resturant, and not that “Americanized” version we are stuck with.

This reply belongs in place of the other above – When you give me $100,000 I will open one for you.
