Burien Actors Theatre will be presenting the offbeat comedy “End Days” – plus improv and performance art – starting Friday, May 9 and continuing through June 1 in the company’s newly renovated space, which suffered from an arson fire on Dec. 10, 2013 (read our previous coverage here).

Here’s the synopsis:

Sixteen-year-old Rachel Stein is having a bad year in End Days. Her father won’t get dressed, her mother is newly born again, her Elvis impersonator neighbor has fallen for her, and Jesus has moved in with family. Plus the Apocalypse is coming Wednesday. Her only hope is Stephen Hawking will save the day. Seattle composer Allan Loucks has composed music specifically for the production at Burien Actors Theatre.

The show is suitable for ages 13-plus due to occasional adult language.

Ticket prices range from $7 to $20. Check out special ticket deals. All deals and discounts are exclusive of each other. For tickets or other information, go online to www.burienactorstheatre.org or call 206-242-5180.

IMPROV AND PERFORMANCE ART
Don’t miss some unconventional entertainment at a price that can’t be beat when Burien Actors Theatre cosponsors hour-long improv and performance art shows after certain End Days performances. On Fridays, be amazed as the spoken word transforms into performance art and poetry slams by Poets with a Purpose at 10:30 p.m. on May 16, 23 and 30. Then on Saturdays, get some laugh therapy with improv by the award-winning TurboTurkey at 10:30 p.m. May 10, 17, 24 and 31. Admission to both Poets with a Purpose and TurboTurkey performances is pass-the-hat, which is a steal for so much fun.

THE CAST
Jane Ryan is stage directing the show, and Allan Loucks has composed music for the production. Also featured are the diverse acting talents of Gemma Cody-Anders (Rachel), Brynne Garman (Sylvia), Mark Gladding (Jesus/Hawking), Russ Kay (Arthur) and Brad Walker (Nelson).
