Normandy Park Arts Festival is this weekend – June 7–8
All the world is a stage and you’re invited to the Normandy Park Arts Festival this weekend – Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8.
This will be the 16th year of this colorful celebration of art in our community, and this year’s theme is about theatre, masks, and roles we play in the world.
“What earthly drama do you enjoy or metaphoric mask do you construct?” reads an announcement. “Well let’s explore these ideas together at this year’s Art Festival!”
“Decorate your very own mask to take home with you! We will have feathers and sequins and jewels to make your unique mask sparkle! Serge Qureshi will be on hand for a while on Saturday with his button making apparatus, make a cool picture and have it turned into a button! We will also have a painting area with a limited amount of canvasses. Create a masterpiece to bring home! These are all limited to supplies that we have on hand, and it’s first come first served. We will have some really cool coloring.”
A juried art show and a vendor room are only the first act of this production; you’ll experience music and arts and crafts, and be able to vote on your favorite piece for the “People’s Choice” award.
Normandy Park City Hall is located at 801 SW 174th Street.
