Safety improvements planned at intersections throughout Burien

Burien has received a Citywide Safety Improvements Grant from the state Department of Transportation for safety enhancements to several signalized and non-signalized intersections throughout the City.

Project improvements, which will occur this summer, include the following:

Rectangular rapid flashing beacons at the following locations:

  • 4th Ave SW/SW 132nd St.
  • SW 126th St./Ambaum Blvd. SW

Countdown pedestrian heads at the following intersections:

  • 8th Ave. SW/SW 160th St.
  • 8th Ave. S./S 128th St.

Regulatory and warning signs at the following intersections:

  • 15th Ave. S/S 128th St.
  • 3rd Ave. S/S 128th St.
  • 4th Ave. SW/SW 128th St.
  • Ambaum Blvd. SW/SW 130th St. 9. Occidental Ave. S/S 128th St.

Stop-control pavement markings at the following intersections:

  • 15th Ave. S/S 128th St.
  • 16th Ave. S/S 128th St.
  • Ambaum Blvd. SW/SW 130th St.
  • Occidental Ave. S/S 128th St.

Permanent radar speed signs at 4th Ave. SW/SW 130th Streets.
