UPDATE: ‘Balu,’ an 11-year old grey male house cat who went missing for the second time from its Three Tree Point area home on June 22 – has returned home safely!

Here are the details courtesy owner Ian Kelley:

Dear Editor,

In the early hours of yesterday morning, we heard a scratching at our door. To our surprise and delight, it was Balu, coming home after missing 8 days! He beat the odds and made it back on his own (apparently about 15% of lost cats do this). He is healthy, although probably a few pounds lighter.

Our thanks go to the B-Town blog for posting our “Lost Cat” advert, and to all your readers who kept an eye out in the last week.

We are so happy to have Balu back!

~Ian

That’s good to hear. I feared he met the same fate as my car last year. Coyotes. Don’t even get me started on those.

This is GREAT news. I’ve been thinking about Balu, as I have a cat that looks just like him, and would be heartsick if he went missing! I bet he has some great stories to tell!! Congrats on getting him back!!

Glad Balu got home in time for the Fourth of July, so he can be inside and cozy rather than outside and scared by all the noise.
