The City of Burien announced that work to create a new section of the lower trail at Eagle Landing Park was recently completed by EarthCorps, restoring public access to the beach.
The historically storm-damaged stairs at the base of the trail have been removed and replaced with a new trail and boardwalk, with “an alignment that will no longer suffer from the impacts of high winter tides,” according to the city.
This will also allow the public to have better access to the beach.

The seawall that has been removed at Seahurst was installed so this type of damage did not happen. Time will tell if the New Natural Beach will hold up to Mother Nature. Please add pictures to show the new stairs alignment..HAPPY FRIDAY…
I enjoy this park with stair exercise. Today I notice there is a red sediment staining the shoreline below the water near the stairs and I wonder where it is coming from ?
I went out there last night to walk, 267 metal steps and a dozen or so wooden ones, makes a good workout. It was a pretty walk too.
