ELECTION: North Highline Fire District Prop. #1 passes; incumbents leading

With 266,539 ballots counted, the King County Elections Board released the first round of results for Tuesday’s Primary Election, and it looks like the North Highline Fire District Prop. #1 will pass easily, and that all incumbents will move onto the Nov, election.

The state uses a “Top Two” two system for its primary election, with the top two candidates receiving the most votes advancing to the general election (NOTE: we have bold-faced the top two in each category who will next appear on the Nov. 4 ballot).

Here are the first results:

North Highline Fire District Proposition No. 1:

  • Yes: 1,016 • 69.83%
  • No: 439 • 30.17%

Legislative District No. 34 State Senator:

  • Sharon K. Nelson (Dem): 15,875 • 97.41%
  • Write-in: 422 • 2.59%

Legislative District No. 34 Representative Position No. 1:

  • Eileen L. Cody (Dem): 15,864 • 97.53%
  • Write-in: 402 • 2.47%

Legislative District No. 34 Representative Position No. 2:

  • Brendan B. Kolding (Dem): 3,569 • 19.86%
  • Joe Fitzgibbon (Dem): 14,134 • 78.65%

Legislative District No. 33 State Senator:

  • Marylin J. Taylor (Dcr): 1,664 • 12.40%
  • Karen Keiser (Dem): 6,908 • 51.49%
  • Martin Metz (Rep): 4,812 • 35.86%
  • Write-in: 33 • 0.25%

Legislative District No. 33 Representative Position No. 1:

  • Michael J. Siefkes (Rep): 4,886 • 36.56%
  • Tina Orwall (Dem): 8,446 • 63.19%
  • Write-in: 33 • 0.25%

Legislative District No. 33 Representative Position No. 2:

  • Mia Su-Ling Gregerson (Dem): 6,638 • 49.51%
  • Jeanette Burrage (Rep): 4,999 • 37.29%
  • Les Thomas (I): 1,738 • 12.96%
  • Write-in: 32 • 0.24%

Legislative District No. 11 Representative Position No. 1:

  • Zack Hudgins (Dem): 9,072 • 95.73%
  • Write-in: 405 • 4.27%

Legislative District No. 11 Representative Position No. 2:

  • Sarah Sanoy-Wright (Rep): 4,215 • 34.55%
  • Steve Bergquist (Dem): 7,957 • 65.22%
  • Write-in: 29 • 0.24%

City of Seattle Proposition No. 1 Seattle Park District:

  • For formation: 52,295 • 52.39%
  • Against formation: 47,526 • 47.61%

    I don’t understand this, I live in the area that North Highline Fire severs…It wasn’t on the ballet. I would have still voted YES, but wouldn’t you think the people live in the are would get to vote on this?

      Hey Voter12 you probably live in the city of Burien but are served by North Highline fire.. Only voters in the unincorporated area are affected by the vote. Thanks for your support though!
