Children & Families

September Art Walk: Compose your own 6 word stories or memoirs!
Thursday, September 4, 6pm

Come to the library and share your own 6 word stories and/or memoirs! While there take a look at your community’s stories and words.

Spanish Story Times
Thursday, September 4, 11, 18 and 25, 6:30pm

Ages 2 and older with adult.

Night Lanterns Art Workshop
Friday, September 5, 4pm
Ages 5 and older with adult.
Make a whimsical lantern to light the night at the Burien Arts-A-Glow Festival. This is a fun class where you get to play with color and design. Lanterns can be lit with a glow stick or battery LED supplied at the workshop.

Burien Library’s 5th Anniversary Party
Saturday, September 13, All Day!
Celebrate the library! With special performances by Brian Vogan and his Good Buddies (11am), the SuperSones (1pm) and Massive Monkees (3pm).

Living Voices- La Causa
Tuesday, September 16, 3pm
Discover a unique combination of theatre, video and live interaction that creates a high impact experience and an unforgettable journey through history.
La Causa is the story of the late 1960s movement that changed the lives of Latin American farm workers who fought for civil rights, battled racism and indecent working conditions.

All students will receive a free copy of The Official SAT Study Guide, instruction on test strategies and a scored practice test.
Registration required. Class size is limited to 22.
Students must be able to attend all 6 sessions in order to sign up.

Tournament Time!

Middle and high school students come in every month for a new tournament! September’s Tournament will be a Wii Tennis Tournament, but October’s will be chosen by YOU!
