Haul out those treasures you’ve always wondered about and bring them to the Highline Historical Society’s antiques appraisal and artifact identification day this Saturday, Sept. 20, from 10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., at the Burien Community Center.

Professional appraiser Chris Foss and Burke Museum archaeologists will be on hand.

For $15 per item (reduced rate of $10 per item for Highline Historical Society members), Foss will give a verbal appraisal of your antique – bring a note pad to write down the information he provides.

There will be a limit of four items per person. Jewelry, large furniture, and firearms will not be appraised.

And if you would like to bring in an interesting old bone, stone, or other relic, members of the Burke Museum’s archaeology department will be available from 10:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. to identify cultural objects found in the region. There is no fee for this service, but the limit is three items. No appraisals will be given.

This opportunity to learn more about the treasures and significant historical artifacts in your family is being sponsored by Patti Gifford, Real Estate Sales, and attorney Scott Gifford.

The Burien Community Center is located at 14700 6th Ave SW in Burien.
