FranciscanVirtualCare1Advertiser CHI Franciscan Health is expanding its Virtual Urgent Care to serve patients in the service areas of Burien’s Highline Medical Center as well as Bremerton’s Harrison Medical Center.

For just $35 per visit, Virtual Urgent Care allows patients to receive care 24/7 via phone, webcam, smartphone, tablet or PC. The expansion is part of Franciscan’s goal of giving patients unprecedented control over how, when and where they access health care.

CHI Franciscan Health introduced Virtual Urgent Care in late 2013. With more than 1,400 virtual visits conducted in its first year, Franciscan estimates that the program saved patients more than $600,000 in health care costs and 4,200 hours compared to seeking in-person care. Through a Virtual Urgent Care appointment, a doctor or nurse practitioner can diagnose illnesses, fill prescriptions, and schedule in-person appointments if necessary.Franciscan1

Franciscan Health System has introduced Franciscan Virtual Urgent Care, a health care service that allows anyone in its South Sound service area to receive a doctor’s care for a wide range of common conditions 24/7 via phone or video chat on smartphone, tablet or PC. Pink eye, urinary tract infection and other common conditions can be diagnosed through this virtual “house call.” Franciscan offers the full spectrum of primary and specialty care, and now virtual urgent care extends that same quality care to the public any time of day or night, from the comfort of their own home.

Franciscan Virtual Urgent Care will cost $35 per visit, which is less than the cost of an average office visit and a fraction of the average cost of an emergency room visit.
