Are you a Senior high school student in Burien? Here’s a scholarship for you…

The City of Burien on Wednesday (Feb. 25) announced that applications are now open for a $1,250 scholarship, available to Senior high school students living within the city limits:

The Association of Washington Cities Center for Quality Communities promotes municipal leadership development and civic engagement. The Center believes in educating student leaders who care about their communities. Six $1,250 Center for Quality Communities scholarships are created to support Washington State senior high school students who are actively engaged with their community and/or city government and want to pursue post-secondary education in fall 2015. Each city can nominate one student for the scholarship.

To be eligible, the students must reside within the Burien city limits.

The City of Burien must receive the completed application package by 4:30 p.m. on March 4.

The students will be informed of the City’s nominating selection during the week of March 9th.
