Besides giving a monetary donation, the best way you can support local non-profit St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle|King County, as they help our struggling neighbors in need, is to shop and donate clothing and household goods at their five King County thrift stores.

St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle/King County is a local, independent, non-profit 501(c)(3) charity. Proceeds generated from sales in our five thrift stores provide funding to support our programs to help our struggling neighbors. Profits from our stores go to assist our needy neighbors, not shareholders or owners. We help people with emergency assistance, as well as help people in finding long term solutions for finding pathways to achieve self-sufficiency and stability.

St. Vinnie’s helps shoppers stretch their budgets, find cool stuff, and explore for those undiscovered treasures packed onto our shelves and racks. Shoppers helped SVdP generate funds to help serve close to 150,000 people last year in King County.

There are over 1,200 St. Vincent de Paul volunteers at more than 50 neighborhood chapters making over 12,000 in home visits per year, serving neighbors in need in King County. Stores support our home visit teams by helping neighbors get furniture, clothing and other home necessities. Our home visit teams help prevent evictions and utility shut-offs, ease hunger, and link people to our longer- term case management services.

It may seem hard to believe, but a bag of gently used clothes or a box of household items, can help people avoid eviction and get other needed services. Donate today at any of our five stores in Aurora, Burien, Kenmore, Kent and Renton. Our stores are the largest fund raising program for St. Vincent de Paul. Goods and clothing donations help us fund our programs. Additionally, our five thrift stores generate revenue from recycling 2,000,000 pounds of unsold items from stores, diverting hundreds of tons of consumer goods from landfills, and providing transitional employment and skills training. The stores also sell about 2,300,000 pounds of gently used items for re-use.
