BurienBitesHome_2015 Burien Bites – one of Burien’s most delectable events of the year – is returning on Thursday, April 9, from 5 – 9 p.m.! The event will be held at HomeTask, located at 611 SW 152nd Street. SCHEDULE:

  • 5 – 9 p.m.: The Bite!
  • 8 p.m.: After Party Starts
  • 9 p.m.: Awards at HomeTask
This is a community event, created to help raise money for local charities, where participants can get to know their neighbors, mingle and try specialty fare at local participating restaurants. People will have the opportunity to dine around town and taste different “bites,” all for just $2 a bite. Tickets for the $2 bites will be available for purchase before the event (at HomeTask or Discover Burien), or at the participating restaurants. Participants can then redeem the tickets at the participating restaurant for their special bite. This event will allow people to experience new, different and fun restaurants that they may not have tried before. “We are always trying to find new ways to help the community and organizing Burien Bites is a fantastic way for people to have fun and be generous towards those who need our help,” said HomeTask CEO Jerrod Sessler and founder of the event. “It also brings our community together which is all about people building relationships.” You can support your community by helping raise money and tasting delicious food. Each ticket represents money that the restaurants will be able to donate to a charity of their choice. Not only do participants have the opportunity to try different bites at participating restaurants, but they also have the chance to vote for their favorite bite. Burien Bites has a custom web app that allows participants to cast their votes and submit feedback for each of the restaurants. The past 2014 winner was Maven Mercantile. Any local restaurant from Burien can participate and give a taste of their distinctive food that they offer. “We have invested or donated over $14,000 into local charities since starting Burien Bites, but the success is far greater than a check,” Sessler added. “The people of Burien come out to eat local and come together as a community, and that’s the greatest success of all. Burien Bites and HomeTask are contributing to making Burien great!” PROCEEDS WILL BENEFIT BURIEN CHARITIES:
  • Discover Burien
  • Highline Area Food Bank
  • Highline Schools Foundation
  • HomeTask Cares Foundation
  • New Futures
  • YETI
