Here comes the 4th of July – a very special event in Burien’s Three Tree Point neighborhood!
“Our quiet and scenic corner of Burien turns on the charm to share in the traditions of the 4th of July!” said Fireworks Fund Co-Chair Fred Feiertag. “The community goes all out to decorate and celebrate Independence Day.”
The culmination happens around 10 p.m. when the chartered barge erupts in a fine display of fireworks visible all along Burien’s waterfront.
But it comes at a cost.
“The temporary population of Three Tree Point swells so much to take in the fun that we must hire several off-duty police officers just to direct traffic,” Fred added. “It is an expensive event to stage, and is entirely paid for by donations from the community. Each year we raise around $30,000 for the fireworks, tugboat, hiring off duty police officers, renting a dumpster, purchasing the required insurance and permits, and many other details that all add up.”

“Donations are *not* matched by public money it is just us residents – the folks who love the 4th and the spectacle that celebrates our independence for over two hundred years,” Fred added.
Organizers are also seeking sponsorship donations from local businesses too.
This is a great way to get some exposure for your business to some of the city’s most affluent residents. Please email Todd Manola at ToddManola@gmail.com for more info!
