july 4th parade 2
Now in it’s 94th year, the city of Burien’s 4th of July parade is the oldest and one of the best attended in King County, and this year it will follow a new route.
Every year, thousands of spectators gather along the parade route in downtown Burien to see marching bands, floats, the Seafair pirates, and much more!
The parade starts at 3 p.m. and runs approximately 2 hours.
Special thanks to Rairdon’s Honda of Burien for being the title event sponsor for the parade this year, and to Boulevard Park Place, the main sponsor, along with Recology CleanScapes, the other event sponsor.
“We greatly appreciate the support from Rairdon’s Honda and all of our event sponsors and parade participants,” said Andrea Reay, Executive Director. “Together we are all making Burien awesome!”

Interested in marching in the parade or becoming a generous sponsor? Please visit the Discover Burien website for more information on how to get involved: http://www.discoverburien.org/events/event/independence-day-parade/ or call their office at (206) 433-2882.

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone out enjoying our beautiful city this 4th of July. Many local restaurants and businesses are planning to stay open especially for the parade and will be offering specials. Please note that the parade route has shifted slightly from previous years.
NEW ROUTE THIS YEAR
This year the parade will start on SW 152nd Street and 8th Ave SW, then proceed first eastbound on SW 152nd Street, making a right south onto 2nd Ave SW where it will then move west on SW 153rd and finally finish at Ambaum and 153rd (click image to see larger version):

  1. Thousands of spectators and 3 porta Toilets…..wee pee freely says this ain’t gonna work.

    1. Talk to Joey M. Maybe he can work up some system for them to manage their business on public buildings as per his comments about the lack of facilities in Burien…’you gotta do what you gotta do where you gotta do it’…obviously a paraphrase of his statement.

  2. “When people are banned from public facilities and they have no where else to go… well when nature calls it must be answered – even if in a Safeway parking lot.” Joey Martinez

    1. That’s it! Hope you’ve never had a baby, toddler, elderly parent, or someone you love whose gotten sick and couldn’t walk the 5 steps to a crapper…
