The Burien Police Department is reporting that this 19-year old arson suspect (read our previous coverage here), turned himself in on Friday, July 10: 11722257_629097407229588_2478922175350667049_o 11722326_629097410562921_8861837743030687888_o 11061312_629097403896255_3183611246497030778_o Police say that the suspect was wanted for questioning in connection with an arson that occurred at Salmon Creek Park at 700 SW 118 on July 8 at 12:45 p.m. in the afternoon. “After we released photos of an arson suspect last Thursday, tips immediately began coming in,” police said. “In less than 24 hours, the 19-year old suspect appeared at our station with a family member and gave a confession to investigators. This illustrates the power of social media and how community involvement are vital to a successful polic3 department. Way to go Burien!” “Thanks to the power of social media, our arson suspect was identified and surrendered within 24 hours of our sharing the pics,” Capt. Bryan Howard told The B-Town Blog. “A family member saw the post and brought him into the station where he confessed to investigators.”]]>

  1. Dear Burien Human,
The suspect has confessed, that’s a relief.
One can only publish what information is made available. I’m sure more info will come out when the police release it. We (myself included) are getting spoiled by the modern system of instant communications. Just be glad we don’t have to get it through the town crier system or the slightly more modern printed press or Movietone news method.
