Longtime resident Margie Gibb passed away suddenly last Friday night, Aug. 28.
“Margie was one of the founding board members of Discover Burien, a regular volunteer at our Farmers Market, and we will miss her deeply,” Andrea Reay, Discover Burien Executive Director, told The B-Town Blog.
Margie was also very active at Glendale Evangelical Lutheran Church, as well as Burien C.A.R.E.S. She was also instrumental in organizing Burien Clean Sweep and many other activities and organizations that served our community.
“Her passion, dedication and enthusiasm for our community will continue to inspire us as we uphold her legacy,” Andrea added.
Margie was married to Noel Gibb, former Mayor and owner of N&R Automotive, located at 115 S. 156th Street in Burien.
Memorial services are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12 at Glendale Evangelical Lutheran Church, located at 13455 2nd Ave SW in Burien.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Margie’s name to Burien C.A.R.E.S. or Discover Burien.]]>

  6. I had not seen Margie in many years, but had good memories of sharing time with her and her family during the mid-80’s when we all attended the Vineyard Fellowship. Noel & Margie opened their home so graciously and were a lot of fun to be around. I remember meeting her Mother from Texas (frustrated because I cannot remember her name right) I saw how much Margie loved and respected her. Believe I learned a little lesson there from her.
One hot summer day, Margie took me out to the fairgrounds in Enumclaw (my home these past 20 years) to see Johnny Cash & the Carter family. Way cool memories!
My condolences to Noel, Dianna, Scott, their families, and those close to Margie. May God keep you and comfort you always.
