Burien Books will be hosting a book signing and talk for “Triumph Born of Ashes: Trooper Mike Buckingham’s Story” by Ward Buckingham, on Saturday, Sept. 26, from Noon – 3 p.m.

This book is a tribute, part-biography, and part-memoir that gives a truly inspirational story of survival against all odds and adversity.

“Trooper Mike Buckingham’s story will inspire, challenge, encourage, educate and amaze.”

Both brothers grew up in the Burien area and and are Highline High School graduates. Mike’s first law enforcement position was with the Normandy Park Police Department. Sadly, Mike passed away last year.

“Triumph Born of Ashes” was released Sept. 3, 2015.

    It was extraordinary what Mike accomplished after his accident so many years ago.
    He was a friend from grade school through high school, a Gregory Heights guy.

    We need more people like him.
