REMINDER: The B-Town Blog’s final Burien City Council Candidate Forum for the Nov. 3 election will be this Tuesday night, Oct. 13, starting at 7 p.m.

Our last debate for this election will feature candidates vying for Burien City Council Position #2: Bob Edgar vs Holli Giffin.

This is a free event, and will occur at the ERAC building, located at 15675 Ambaum Blvd. SW, just north of SW 160th and across the street from Azteca Restaurant.

Following the Edgar-Giffin forum, Mayne will jointly interview two candidates running for a seat on the Highline School Board – John Burdine and Michael Spear.

The B-Town Blog will also record audio and take photos for followup stories.

The forum is free, and along with Burdine-Spear interview, will run approximately two hours.

Questions will be taken from the audience.

  1. Question Authority says:

Again I was unable to attend due to work, please share how well Bob trounced Holli for the good of Burien.

    • Gandalf Von Rand Kahn says:

      It was hard to watch.

    • Charles Schaefer says:

QA, it’s unclear how much of Bob’s victory was due to Holli’s lack of constructive solutions and how much was due to her lack of confidence or public speaking ability. I’ll let you judge for yourself when the video is posted.

QA—Holli Giffin is not prepared to serve on the Council! She was unprepared for the Forum and couldn’t answer a number of the questions or just made up some answer. She is an unemployed lawyer who is in bankruptcy and she has done nothing for the City of Burien like volunteer, etc. She went to Empty Bowls once. She has never attended city advisory board meetings and didn’t attend Council meetings. She hasn’t bothered to get a business license for the businesses associated with her home, which she didn’t mention. She doesn’t have the skills to do economic development or budget issues for the city based on her previous failed business experience. She had no idea about anything relating to Burien’s environment or its issues. She said she liked Block Watches but never bother to organize one in her own neighborhood. She had real difficultly speaking in public and it is a skill you would expect she should have as a lawyer. She claimed that it is her lawyer skills that will make her easy to work with on the Council but all lawyers really do is argue for a living and we don’t need another one up there arguing..She said some weird idea that the City has stopped moving ahead. I guess she hasn’t looked at Town Square recently. Looking at the PDC site a large amount of her money is coming in from outside of the city. Make’s you wonder who’s puppet on the Council she is. Jeff Upthegrove is listed as her campaign consultant. The same consultant Lauren Berkowitz used. Lauren Berkowitz has endorsed her. Holli is not prepared to serve on the Council. Don’t vote for her.
Bob Edgar did a super job of answering the questions. He has the skills for the position. I’m voting for him. Go Bob.

  3. Question Authority says:

Gee thanks everyone, I have a sign for Bob, Lucy and Darla’s campaigns in my yard and fully support their previous contributions and commitments to Burien.
The last thing we need is further Council disruption caused by pre selected outside funded puppets who have affiliations with Upthecreek or Bezerkoitz mucking up the system. Please collectively spread the word by voice, letter or sign for Bob, Lucy and Darla.
    Go Burien or go home!

  4. Gandalf Von Rand Kahn says:

The Austin Bell campaign is also run by Jeff Upthegrove. Austin’s new paid add is hilarious, reminds me of the Gil Fullbright add.

The kind rhetoric of the Giffin campaign

“Just saw Darla and her crew of idiots on the street corner of 148th and 1st waving and hoisting signs. Didn’t she say at a council meeting if you can stand on a street corner begging for 8 hours, you can get a job?” – Rob Johnson Campaign manager, Holli Giffin campaign.
