Burien’s Kennedy Catholic High School Lancers Girls’ Volleyball team won the 3A championship on Saturday (Nov. 14), in a thrilling 3-1 victory over the #1 team Columbia River.
Set scores were very close: 27-25, 20-25, 25-22, 25-20.

The Lancers – with a season record of 29-2 – previously lost to Columbia River (24-4) a week earlier in the West Central District final. Columbia had big leads in each set Saturday, but could only close out the second one against the resilient Lancers.

Kennedy Seniors Shayne McPherson and Apryll Eneliko combined for 48 kills to lead the second-ranked Lancers to the state championship.

Way to go Lancers!

    1. Agreed. I looked on the school website many times and found no information. The only way I follow any of the seamount teams is on the Seamount League Athletics website.
At least I can get some game updates for the local teams.
Great job for the Lancers. All the Seamount teams can now say they played the state champs. It can be a good learning experience for all teams to see what it takes to get to be State Champs. Only by playing somebody better can you yourself improve.
