Paintings by local Artist Amaranta Ibarra-Sandys at Burien Community Center

The Burien Community Center will have paintings on display by local artist Amaranta Ibarra-Sandys until the end of January. 

Amaranta moved to Seattle 20 years ago from Mexico City. As an artist and art teacher she has been constantly expose to new mediums. Trained in ceramics she started working in watercolors three years ago.  The series “Angels, Mermaids and other Demons” illustrate different stages of personal narrative, from motherhood, parenting, divorce and re-invention.  Amaranta also teaches art classes for the Moshier Community Art Center and King County Libraries.

The Burien Community Center is open MondayThursday from 8:30am-8:00pmFriday from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. – Noon.
