Highline Public Schools graduate turned teacher Christian Tautua – a 2009 Health Sciences & Human Services High School (HS3) grad – is being showcased in this month’s #HighlineAlum social media campaign. Christian is giving back to his hometown community by serving as a seventh-grade language arts teacher at Cascade Middle School. He is passionate about Highline’s diverse community and is grateful for the numerous mentors he had growing up. “I think the Highline community is special because there is a lot of diversity and resilience. I think that a lot of my experiences are shared with the folks here at Highline. I’m from here and I’m proud of everything that has to do with White Center,” Christian said. “I’ve had mentors from this community for a long time. I’ve had folks who are directly involved with my success. They are still with me today.” Here’s Christian’s video: Alum Profile: Christian Tautua from Highline Public Schools on Vimeo. Highline boasts a long list of well-known and accomplished alumni, along with dozens of grads you haven’t yet heard of who are making their mark on the world. Each month, the district is featuring successful, high-profile and up-and-coming alum on its Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages. The features include a short video clip of the alumnus. The community is invited to follow along by using the hashtag #HighlineAlum. Earlier this month, they featured professional musician and singer Dianna Tonkin in their campaign. The #HighlineAlum campaign aims to inspire our students to dream big, graduate high school, and go on to accomplish great things. If you know an outstanding Highline Alum, please nominate them to be featured in a future profile – email their name and contact information to [email protected].]]>
