On Dec. 2, 2015, King County Sheriff’s Officer MPO White responded to a burglary call in the Boulevard Park area, near S. 112 and 1st Ave South.  White investigated the burglary, but there were no leads. Among items taken from the victims were all the Christmas presents for the family’s 7 and 4-year old children. The Grinch-like burglars also took most of the kid’s toys from their rooms. The victims had limited means, and this burglary was devastating to them. MPO White was concerned the family would have no Christmas as a result of this burglary. He discussed this issue with his family after he got home from work. They decided to go shopping, replacing the kids Christmas presents to assure they have a Christmas. MPO White and his family coordinated with the parents and are delivering the presents on Christmas day. “This is truly the spirit of Christmas and service all wrapped up together,” Sgt. Cindi West told The B-Town Blog. “I know MPO White did not do this for recognition, but his kindness and compassion are deserving.” West added:

“While the media is full of stories related to inappropriate conduct by police officers, we all know the hearts of our officers are often full of warmth, love and compassion.”

  1. MPO White sounds like not only an excellent officer, but also a great guy in general, as this action clearly goes above and beyond his role as an officer. BPD and KCSO are full of these kinds of quality individuals and every time someone posts a comment on the blog or comes to city council to tell us how horrible our police are it just leaves me shaking my head. Merry Christmas!

  2. This shows the true spirit of what most officers are all about. MPO White, Thank you for protecting and serving us and making a family realize the good in the world, Merry Christmas.

  3. Thank you for telling us of this kindness by Officer White and his family. You are appreciated Officer White! Blessings to you and your family and, the family you helped.
