The Highline Schools Foundation announced this week that – thanks to generous donations from Sea-Tac Airport, Alaska Airlines, The Tin Room and others – there are more college scholarships available for 2016. The Highline Schools Foundation strives to be a bridge to opportunity for Highline Public School students, and one of the many ways the Foundation makes an impact is with its generous scholarship program. This year, HSF offers more scholarship opportunities than ever before. Beginning in 2016, seniors in Highline Public Schools will have a new scholarship available to them thanks to The Tin Room and their patrons. The TinShip Scholarship is intended for graduates who want to pursue a trade school, for careers in mechanics, building, machinery or craftsmanship. One (1) $6,000 scholarship will be awarded to one graduating student attending an accredited Trade School. The long-established Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Scholarship increased their scholarship award amount this year and will award two (2) $20,000 scholarships and one (1) $10,000 scholarship; Alaska Airlines has increased the number of scholarships they will award in 2016 from one (1) to four (4)! Last year, thanks to the generosity of District Alumnus CM Garrity, the Foundation added their first 4-year scholarship; the CM Garrity Scholarship will award one male and one female graduating student in Highline Public Schools a $20,000 scholarship. Scholarships Available in 2016
