The hatchet-wielding masked man who was shot by a customer Sunday morning (March 13) at a 7/11 in nearby Boulevard Park has been identified by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office as Steven Blacktongue, 43 (pictured above).

Police say that Blacktongue entered the convenience store in the 1100 block of 8th Ave S. early Sunday, wearing a mask and armed with a hatchet, which he then used to attack a customer and clerk.

A 60-year old customer who was a regular at the store drew a pistol and shot the suspect, who died at the scene.
