We encourage residents of all ages to submit stories and photos for posting – for consideration, please email yours to [email protected]!] Photos and Story by Isabel Herbruger, age 11 Last week was the start of the track season with the Jamboree held at Highline. I was busy finishing cookie sales so I did not get to see the Pirates in action until March 24, 2016, when they ran against Hazen. It was really windy out on the field, I cannot imagine how cold the Pirates were in their track uniforms! Hazen had a lot of athletes, so the Pirates lost on the score board despite their best efforts. Senior Jacob won the mile and there were a few other close finishes in the races. There were no Lady Pirates in the shotput or discus, but the boys did pretty good. I was out of practice for track and forgot about the dark filter on my lens, so I did not get many good shots this meet. Good thing there is another meet against Renton at Renton Memorial Stadium, at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2016. disc-09 hurdle-01 hurdle-02 run-01 run-02 run-04 shot-01 disc-04 More photos available at https://www.facebook.com/HHSPirateTrack/ Sincerely, Isabel]]>
