On Saturday morning, May 21, a vandal caused $4–$5,000 worth of damage to the Color Printing Systems building at 15106 10th Ave SW near Olde Burien. A male suspect smashed several windows in the building, as well as the windshield of a cargo truck parked in a spot on the north side of the business. As can be seen in the surveillance video below, the vandal first walked up, looked in and knocked on the doors of the business, which was closed at the time. Once the suspect gets no response, he turns, reaches into his backpack and deftly pulls out what appears to be some kind of telescoping “breaker bar” device, which he then uses to quickly smash the glass in both front doors (it looks like he’s done this maneuver before!). He then walks around and smashes a front window of the building as well: Damage was also found on various other windows, as well as on the front windshield of a cargo truck parked at the building (photos below). All this happened in broad daylight, at around 10:38 a.m. on a Saturday morning. Burien Police were notified, and the business owner says he has a “pretty good idea of who may have done this…” This same suspect was also captured on surveillance video from behind the Mark Restaurant, which is located nearby and across the alley: Here are some photos of damage to the truck (click images to see larger versions): IMG_4449 IMG_4450 IMG_4451 If you know who this suspect is – or see him – you are encouraged to call Burien Police at (206) 296-3311.]]>
