Police say that the Burien female was driving a Honda southbound on 4th Ave SW approaching the light at SW 148th Street when she collided at the intersection with a Sound Transit bus that was westbound on SW 148th Street. The bus was driven by a 62-year old man. The woman’s Honda ended up going over an embankment next to an office building in the Burien Town Plaza. The bicycle rack of the bus penetrated the driver’s door of the Honda, causing critical injuries to the woman. She was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. There was NO indication of alcohol or drugs, and this accident is still under investigation. ]]>

1. I wonder which one ran the red light. I have seen a lot of this lately, specifically at that intersection and the one on 1st and 148th. This is so dangerous!

1. It boggles my mind that there’s a left turn signal at 4th AVE SW & SW 146TH ST but not one at this intersection.
I wonder if the City of Burien reads these comments?

2. I have noticed buses going through the intersections in Burien at S 148th at what seems to be way too fast, especially the one on first ave getting on the freeway. I always think what if they hit a car, it would be almost certain death or someone hurt really bad. Seems like they should slow down a little when going through the intersections even if they have the green light so if they do hit someone, no matter who is at fault it wouldn’t be such a terrible impact.
