Free Workshop for Homeowners Along Urban Creeks, Lakes and Wetlands September 17, 9:00 AM-12:30 PM, Burien Community Center

Homeowners with properties along streams, ponds, lakes, and wetlands are invited to a free workshop on ways to protect and enhance their properties. Hosted by the City of Burien and King Conservation District, the workshop will provide an opportunity to learn from experts how to protect and beautify properties near freshwater aquatic areas.

The free workshop will include a two-hour morning class at the Burien Community Center, followed by an optional site visit to Miller Creek.

Workshop Topics will Include:

  • Minimizing pollution runoff on your property.
  • Controlling invasive weeds.
  • Utilizing native plants for wildlife habitat and erosion control.
  • Adding value and beauty to your yard naturally.
  • Learning about environmental regulations that impact your property.
