Quiet Skies Coalition will ask City Council to release funds at Monday’s meeting

Our friends at the Quiet Skies Coalition – a grassroots organization to challenge the new airplane flight-patterns from Sea-Tac Airport over Burien – released their latest newsletter on Saturday, Dec. 17.

In the newsletter, organizers are alerting residents that they will be asking the Burien City Council at Monday night’s meeting (Dec. 19) “to release funds that have already been approved for airport litigation against the FAA and their policy of directing flights over our neighborhoods. We have a course of action that cannot be openly discussed at this time. However, we have a small window of opportunity that will close if we don’t execute our plan in a timely manner. This course of action is extremely time sensitive and we must act NOW.”

Organizers are asking for concerned residents to show up at the Monday night meeting to support this effort.

“It is imperative that we have a large showing of support at the meeting on Monday night where we will be asking the council for the necessary release of funding. Your presence will help ensure the City Council Members to recognize the importance and urgency we all feel. Please spread the word and make every effort to be there!”

Monday night’s City Council meeting will start at 7 p.m. at Burien City Hall, located at 400 SW 152nd Street.

Here’s the full text of the latest email:

Dear friends and neighbors,

We need your support, and we need it now.

The Burien City Council will meet on Monday, Dec. 19th at 7PM. At that meeting, your Quiet Skies Coalition committee will be asking the council to release funds that have already been approved for airport litigation against the FAA and their policy of directing flights over our neighborhoods. We have a course of action that cannot be openly discussed at this time. However, we have a small window of opportunity that will close if we don’t execute our plan in a timely manner. This course of action is extremely time sensitive and we must act NOW.

It is imperative that we have a large showing of support at the meeting on Monday night where we will be asking the Counsel for the necessary release of funding. Your presence will help ensure the City Council Members to recognize the importance and urgency we all feel. Please spread the word and make every effort to be there!

Sincerely,
Larry Cripe, President
Quiet Skies Coalition

Sounds like last minute Christmas shopping to me.

Does the quote “please spread the word and make every effort to be there!” apply to our own horrendously absentee council member Bezerkoitz? If anyone should be there it should be her as she’s getting paid with our tax money to hypothetically represent us. Even though her position on matters usually goes against common sense and only plays into the hands of her Socialist masters, a job is a job so step up or preferably quit.
