Local Cub Scouts will hold a ‘Raingutter Regatta’ sailboat race Saturday, Feb. 4

Local Cub Scouts are inviting all to join them for a fun morning of making and racing sailboats at top speed at a ‘Raingutter Regatta’ on Saturday, Feb. 4 from 9 – 10 a.m. at St. Bernadette School Hall in Burien.

Cub Scouts will build sailboats and race them against each other – using their breath for power – to see who has the fastest boat.

Races will take place in water-filled raingutter race courses, with Cub Scouts powering their boats by blowing on the sails. Scouts are encouraged to invite a buddy who is new to Scouting to join them in the regatta.

Separate raingutter race courses will be available for Lions, Tigers, Wolves, Bears, and Webelos. Scouts decide who they want to race against and they should be able to race numerous times. Each time a race is won, the ship’s captain will receive a sticker to adorn their boat, or a tasty treat!

COST: $1.00 per youth, no advance registration required.
