Highline Schools Foundation announces “Celebrate! Highline” as the 2017 Gold Star Awards theme. “Celebrate! Highline” celebrates a passed bond, graduation rates climbing, and students reaching their potential! At this year’s breakfast, attendees will be inspired to go “Celebrate! Highline” and Celebrate our kids and community together at this important fundraiser for Highline Schools Foundation.

Each year, the Highline Schools Foundation solicits nominations from community members, district employees and parents for its prestigious and much-anticipated Gold Star Awards. “Various individuals have been honored with Gold Star Awards because our community has taken the time to nominate them, but we can’t acknowledge them if we don’t hear about them!” said Foundation Board President Marco Milanese. “These awards provide our community the opportunity to honor those in our schools and district who have shown outstanding support of students and education and who give all of us inspiration and direction.”

Each year, Highline Schools Foundation invites civic, community and corporate leaders to a lively celebration to benefit Highline’s 20,000 students. All of the funds raised by Highline Schools Foundation help students and teachers in Highline Public Schools get the resources they need to be successful. The Foundation funds a myriad of needs in Highline-including scholarships, district athletic needs, technology, college and career readiness, early learning initiatives and support for our neediest students and families.
