What a great, positive idea for the Burien community! I hope a lot of Blog readers will attend.

I am really sad to see that the negative responses to a positive comment about this gathering caused the comment itself to be hidden. Burien is a diverse city and I expected this type of outreach would be met with open arms. Can you imagine how difficult and scary it will be for this small minority of people to try to connect with their community in the current political climate? These are our neighbors and they could be our friends too if we reach back.

Good for you, Christine! We all need to deal with the reality of a shrinking world and try to get to know folks who may be interesting in new ways.

This is a good opportunity and I will attend in spirit while have to work that evening. I’m looking forward to learning about and understanding people from other countries because I have not traveled the world yet.

Over a hundred people attended and it was beautiful. There was so much love and community at this gathering.
