A special Earth Day Repair Fair will be held at the White Center Community Center gym at Steve Cox Memorial Park on Saturday, April 22.

Bring your small household items, including clothing!

This event is FREE to the public!

There will also be other special activities and entertainment at this fair, which will be the first Earth Day Repair Fair!

  • 9:45 and 11:15: Music by the Marina Christopher duo
  • 10:00 to 12:00: For kids – Make a rain gauge from recycled materials!
  • 10:30: DIY home lamp repair workshop by McLendon Hardware

Experienced all-purpose fixers and sewing fixers will try to repair or mend your items, and can also help you learn how to fix them next time.

You must be present during the repair. There is no assurance an item can be fixed, or that attempting to fix it won’t break it even more.

Please only bring items small enough to be easily carried in by one person. Do not bring any items that are leaking, dangerous, contain gasoline, or have a strong odor. Clothing and other textiles that you bring in for mending should be washed first.

Please sign up in advance if possible to let them know what you plan to bring, so their fixers can be prepared. For specialized repairs (which many are), please bring any specific parts or materials needed for your repair.

To sign up to attend, please sign up or ask questions by contacting Tom Watson at [email protected] or at 206-477-4481.

“We want to keep stuff out of the landfill, conserve resources and save you money! See you there – thanks!”

WHEN: Saturday, April 22: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM

WHERE: Community gym at Steve Cox Memorial Park, 1321 SW 102nd Street, White Center.
