It’s time again to roll up those sleeves to tackle trash and beautify Burien during Discover Burien’s annual Clean Sweep Event, starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, and sponsored by Recology CleanScapes and Shinnyo.

From 8 a.m. – Noon, volunteers will be picking up litter, eliminating graffiti, and sweeping sidewalks in the Burien Community.

Complimentary breakfast will be served as we begin at the new Fire Station No. 2 at 900 SW 146th St, along with a hot dog lunch, donated by The Point Liquor and Eats and Burien CARES, in the afternoon to thank the volunteers. Participants will also receive a ticket to enter to win prizes and giveaways. Winners will be announced at the end of the event! The top prize this year is a bicycle, generously sponsored by Collins Chiropractic.

Help out this year and bring your bulky items to the Municipal parking lot, located at 631 SW 151st Street in downtown Burien from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m., and dump your large unwanted items.

A huge thank you to in-kind donations that are also coming from the generous supporters Les Schwab Tire and Highline Medical Center.

Relay for Life is again partnering with Value Village to encourage you to clean your closet to help fund cancer research. For every pound of clothing you donate on April 29, 20 cents will be donated to help fund cancer research. Just clean your closet and bring your items to the Fire Station!

“Please come out this year and help us celebrate Earth Month as we work to make Burien a cleaner, brighter and more sustainable community.”

Do we need to sign up on for clean sweep or just show up at the fire station prior to 8am that Saturday?
