Possible deal with new City Manager, FAA & taxes on agenda for Mon. Council

At the next Burien City Council meeting – set for Monday, June 19 at 7 p.m. – expect a possible announcement of a deal with new City Manager Brian Wilson, along with a report from the FAA, discussion on a B&O and lodging tax, wayfindinig signage plan and more.

An executive session is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., to discuss the new City Manager.

  • 6:30 p.m. – Special Meeting: to hold an Executive Session for the purpose of discussing a personnel matter per RCW 42.30.110(1)(g) to evaluate qualifications of City Manager Candidates, Miller Creek Conference Room
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)/Westward Turbo Prop Turns Update.
  • Discussion and Possible Action Regarding Proposed City Manager Contract.
  • Continued Discussion on Establishing Multiple Rates Within the Business and Occupation (B&O) Tax According to Different Sizes or Types of Businesses.
  • Continued Discussion on Lodging Tax.
  • Presentation of Final Downtown Wayfinding Signage Plan.
  • Review of Council Proposed Agenda Schedule.
