Another informal candidate ‘Meet and Greet’ event will take place this Thursday, July 13, from 5 – 6:30 p.m. near Town Square Park on the corner of SW 152nd Street and 5th Place SW.

Tables will be set up on the sidewalk, and this event is open to all.

Community members are encouraged to drop by (and don’t forget the Burien Farmers Market will be open until 6 p.m.!).

According to a Facebook post, all 17 candidates for the four open positions were invited, and those confirmed (so far) to be attending include:

  • Gary Wood, Position 1
  • Pedro Olguin, Position 1
  • Jimmy Matta, Position 3
  • Nancy Tosta, Position 5
  • Darla Green, Position 5
  • Krystal Marx, Position 7
  • Patty Janssen, Position 7
  • Martin Culbert, Position 7

As a reminder, the deadline to vote in the Primary Election is Tuesday, Aug. 1. The top two vote-getters for each position will then face off in the General Election on Nov. 7.

Ballots are scheduled to arrive by mail within the next few days, and The B-Town Blog will be posting Q&As with the candidates very soon as well.

We also hope to hold live Candidate Forums after the Primary Election as well.
