The Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce and the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce on Monday (July 24) announced a new partnership, with a goal to “better and more strategically promote the economic and community development activities for the region.”

“Both of our Chambers promote business advancement by helping to build and maintain a strong economic environment. We are committed to working with Seattle Metro Chamber and offering our members a broad range of membership benefits which will grow business development, services, and marketing opportunities for our region. We strive to expand the collaborative culture in our area because we know the benefits of working alongside one another. This new partnership with Seattle Metro Chamber is an extension of that work and our commitment to best serve our members and our community,” President and CEO of Seattle Southside Chamber Andrea H. Reay said.

The partnership is made effective through a reciprocal membership agreement in which both organizations will leverage their resources to create a broader impact for small businesses in Southwest King County and Seattle.

“The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to be partnering and building a stronger relationship with the Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce,” said Maud Daudon, President and CEO of the Seattle Metro Chamber. “Many of the issues our communities and businesses face are regional issues and we believe that collaborating with other business organizations like the Seattle Southside Chamber and other community groups will only make this region a stronger, more vibrant place for people to live and be successful.”

Both organizations remain independent of the other while realizing the benefits of collaborating on events, activities and services for their members respectively.

“There is tremendous strength that comes from working together and working more efficiently. We were founded on the belief that we are better and stronger together,” said Andrea H. Reay “Increasing our collaborative efforts is a big win for our entire community, especially our small business members that will have access to opportunities and services within two broad service areas (Seattle and Seattle Southside). This partnership allows us to create even greater benefits for our small business members (15 or fewer employees) while greatly increasing our exposure with amplified marketing, networking and promotional opportunities.”
